As a part of our commitment to enhancing dialogue across all sectors in the energy industry, KAEA hosts annual energy symposium that addresses important issues impacting various sectors of the U.S. & Korea energy industry.

Dave Park leads hydrogen infrastructure development for the California Fuel Cell Partnership, balancing the needs of the hydrogen value chain in the rapidly developing hydrogen marketplace. His role is best described as aligning the economics of vehicle manufacturing with those of retail hydrogen and providing industry consensus feedback to California agencies tasked with stimulating electric drive vehicle markets.
Dave’s passion lies in the subject of motivating society to prefer sustainable transportation choices through changes in long-term behavior. His core background is the development of public policy related to transportation and the environment, guided by his experience in the management of advanced transportation demonstration projects, in real-world applications, and has advised transportation policy while serving in public, private and nonprofit sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Science in Environmental Health and Science from Harvard University.
Byong Sung Kwak
Byong Sung Kwak is the head of Korea Institute of Energy Research (KEI).
Kwak is a graduate of Seoul National University in the Department of Chemical Engineering with a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University. Since then, he has served as the director of the SK Corporation Chemical Research Center, Director of the CRD Research Center, Director of the Life Science Business Division, General Manager of the Global Technology Division, and Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Korea University. He was an advisor to SK Innovation.
